| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The SUZUKI METHOD of Talent Education is based on Dr. Shinichi Suzuki's view that every child is born with ability, and that man is the son of his environment. According to Dr. Suzuki, a world-renowned violinist and teacher, the greatest joy an adult can know comes from developing a child's potential so he/she can express all that is harmonious and best in human behavior. Students are taught using the "mother-tongue" approach.
This CD recording by virtuoso pianist Valery Lloyd-Watts contains model performances of all pieces in the Suzuki Piano School Volumes 1 and 2. Valery Lloyd-Watts studied at the Conservatory of Music in Toronto and the Royal College of Music in London. She earned a Master of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin, where she studied with Paul Badura-Skoda. She co-authored the text Studying Suzuki Piano: More than Music, which was endorsed by Dr. Suzuki. In addition to her recordings of the complete Suzuki piano repertoire and other masterwork literature, she has been heard on radio broadcasts for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and National Public Radio (NPR).
